Shaikh Saaleh As-Suhaymi (may Allaah preserve him) said:

None benefits from this Demagoguery and chaos except the enemies of Islaam and the Sunnah. And because of this those behind it are six groups. The kuffaar of various creeds (1); The Raafidah; The khawaarij; The Liberalists; The seekers of rulership and government seats; the fishers in the murky waters amongst the rabble and lowly people-those who praise what they do not know and are followers of everyone who shouts and other than them amongst the foreigners.

Therefore, it is befitting that the Muslims keep themselves away from falling into these situations, and that they should not be إمعاوات–yes men or lapdogs. ”Do not be yes men, saying: If the people are good (or righteous), we are good (or righteous); and if they do wrong (or become unrighteous), we do wrong (or become unrighteous); but make up your mind; If the people do good (or are righteous), then be good (or righteous). If they do evil, then do not do wrong.” Rather, it is upon them (i.e. the Muslims) to follow the methodology of the pious predecessors in rectifying the affairs. Imaam Maalik (rahimahullaah) said: The latter part of this Ummah will not be rectified except by way of that which rectified its earlier part. (2)

Indeed those actions (i.e. demonstrations/protests) are alien to the Muslim society. They have been imported from the Yahood and Nasaaraa; rather they are from the concepts of the Zionist free masons, which the Zionists call to in their well-known evil scheming and with the intention of corrupting the relationship between the rulers and subjects in the lands of the Muslims.

Shaikh Saaleh As-Suhaymi (may Allaah preserve him) said:

The great affairs of corruption that results from it (demonstrations/protests): The evilest of them are free mixing of (the opposite sexes) due to overcrowding, which leads to violating the honour (of others); also destruction and demolition (of property), and loss of both private and public property.

The Means to rectification and Evil in our World–Imaam Ibnul Qayyim

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah):

Whoever ponders upon the state of affairs of the world will find that every affair of rectification is due to Tawheed, singling out Allaah in worship and obedience to His Messenger (Muhammad). And every evil in the world, trial, affliction, scarcity (in livelihood), being overpowered by an enemy and other than that is due to (people’s) opposition to the Messenger and (their) call to other than (the way of) Allaah and His Messenger. Whoever truly ponders upon this and examines the state of affairs of the world since its beginning and until the time Allaah will take it away and those upon it, he will realize this affair regarding himself and other than him—in general and specific. And there is no Might or Power except with Allaah –The Most High, The Most Great. [بدائع الفوائد —3/525-526]

Thirdly: His (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) statement: ”Beware! Avoid the commotions of the markets.” (1) Is this crowding (i.e. during demonstrations/protests) not severer than the commotions of the markets which has been forbidden, and (is it not) a trial and greater harm? (2)

The Commotions of the Markets: It is the free mixing; the disagreements; argumentation; raising of the voices; uproar and trials within it. (3)

Secondly: The statement of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam): “Beware! Avoid sitting on the roads.” (1) So if merely sitting on the roads is forbidden, then how about what those ones do by blocking the roads of the Muslims, obstructing their movements and ruining their (worldly) benefits. (2)

Avoid sitting on the roads.’They (the people) said, ”O Messenger of Allaah! We can’t help sitting (on the roads) as these are (our places) where we have talks. The Messenger of Allaah (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ”If you refuse but to sit, then pay the road its right’ They said, ‘What is the right of the road, O Messenger of Allaah? Bigotry; Blameworthy love of the Dunyah; Envy and Pride are obstacles to accepting the truth

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Al-Allaamah Abdur-Rahmaan Ibn Yahyah Al-Mu-allimee (rahimahullaah) stated that the Religion comprises of various levels: Abstinence from the prohibited affairs and fulfilment of commandments; acknowledgment of truth, belief in it and awareness of it.  And opposing one’s desires by refraining (from falsehood) for the sake of the truth is something very clear, for indeed most of what is prohibited are the lusts and (evil) pleasures.  And it may be that a person does not really desire anything of those (prohibited) things in particular, but he merely desires them due to an opponent. Opposing one’s desires–by way of action– for the sake of the truth is a manifest affair due to what it necessitates of responsibility and difficulty, and this occurs from different angles:

Firstly: A person sees that by acknowledging the truth it would necessitate that he was upon falsehood, because a person is nurtured upon a religion, creed, school of thought or views which were inherited from his nurturer and teacher, and which he considers to be the truth; so when it is manifested that those affairs are falsehood, it becomes difficult for him to acknowledge that. This is because he sees that the deficiencies of his teacher or nurturer necessitate his own deficiencies, and an acknowledgement of their misguidance or errors necessitates his own deficiencies…..

Secondly: It may be that clinging to falsehood brings him prestige, fame and a livelihood, so it becomes difficult for him to acknowledge that he is upon falsehood, which may result in a loss of all those things (i.e. the fame, prestige, livelihood etc).

Thirdly: Pride: It may be that a person is upon ignorance or falsehood, so another person comes along and clarifies the proofs for him; but he sees that by acknowledging such proofs, it would necessitate that he is deficient and that it was such a person who guided him. And due to this we find that it is not difficult for some of those who attribute themselves to knowledge to acknowledge their mistakes when it becomes manifests to them in their researches and studies, but it becomes difficult upon them when others clarify such mistakes for them.

Fourthly: Envy: It may be that when another person clarifies the truth for him, he sees that by acknowledging such truth, it would necessitate an acknowledgement of the clarifier’s virtue, knowledge and correctness due to that clarification; so this may become great in the eyes of the people and they begin to follow him. So you will find some of those who attribute themselves to knowledge being eager to prove the mistakes of other scholars even if that is done by way of falsehood, due to envy and seeking to diminish their status amongst the people.

Opposing one’s desires for the sake of the truth in affairs of knowledge and creed can be difficult, so it requires research and contemplation. Also in facing such difficulty one is in need of asking the scholars and benefitting from them. So with regards to what has been stated about a person’s acknowledgement of the truth and the difficulty in doing so, he should cling to Taqwah, whilst seeking the Tawfeeq of Allaah and guidance. Shaikh Saaleh As-Suhaymi (may Allaah preserve him) said: The one who examines the texts of the Sharee’ah will find that these acts are not from the Religion of Allaah in anyway.

Firstly: Indeed great events took place during the era of Allaah’s Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam), such as the martyrdom of Sumayyah, the mother of Ammaar Ibn Yaasir and her husband Yaasir (radiyallaahu-anhum), and the Muslims were exposed to various types of harm before the migration to Madeenah and (before) they were unjustly expelled from their homes; so did the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) command them to come out in the streets or something similar to it? Rather, far removed is he (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) from that (act).

Have you not seen that after their splitting [i.e. Khawaarij—Terrorists (ISIS, An-Nusrah and Daa-ish)] between themselves, they declared one another disbelievers and fought one another. Have you not seen that the Muslims are (now) in a state of fright and fear from these ones and those ones and they do not know who amongst them is upon truth!?
