Assist Children to Benefit From Worldly Sciences, But Nurture Them to Only Exalt The Deen And Not Worldly Achievements!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] said:

The greatest pleasure in the Afterlife is the pleasure of seeing Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections], just as it has been reported in the authentic hadeeth, “They [i.e. the people of paradise] will not be granted anything that is more beloved to them than seeing Him [i.e. Allaah]’’ and this is the fruitful outcome of knowing Him and worshipping Him in this worldly life. The best thing in this worldly life is to have knowledge and awareness of Him and the best thing in the Afterlife is to see Him. [Ref 1]

Shaikh Abdullah Bin Humaid [rahimahullaah] said:

We said that children are the most important part of the family, so they must be taught what benefits them and are distanced from evil companions. Teaching them necessitates that which the Book and the Sunnah necessitates in their religious affairs, so that they are nurtured upon a sound, beneficial and good nurturing. And we do not say that it is prohibited to study the beneficial worldly sciences because the religion of Islaam does not prohibit it, such as the knowledge of medicine, economics, business and its likes. However, these affairs come after rectification of the creed and after being [acquainted with] the knowledge of Tawheed.  This is what is specified as an obligation.

And protecting the family [necessitates] that you distance your children from evil companions- those who have no goodness in them, such as the atheists or those Bedouins who are distanced from their religion. Therefore, you must warn your children about mixing with them and you must strive to [make sure that] they do not mix with them.  If your child mixes with them, their evil practices will  affect him. Even if your child is sensible, he will adopt some of their manners and deeds due to those evil companions. [Ref 2]

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [hafidhahullaah] saiud:

Many people humble themselves to one another more than they humble themselves to Allaah – The Most High, The Most Great. It is neither permissible for a person to be a slave [i.e. by worshipping anyone] except to Allaah, nor humble himself except to the Greatness of Allaah. Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] said:

He is Allaah than Whom there is none who has the right to be worshipped but He; the King, the Holy, the One Free from all defects, the Giver of security, the Watcher over His creatures, the All-Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glory be to Allaah! [High is He] above all that they associate as partners with Him.  He is Allaah, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, the Bestower of forms. To Him belong the Best Names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.  [Surah Al-Hashar’ Aayaat 23-24]

Examine those Aayaat in the last part of Surah Al-Hashar! The statement: [هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ   –  He is Allah than Whom there is none who has the right to be worshipped but He)]: This necessitates Tawheed Al-Uloohiyyah.

The statement: [هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ‌ۖ عَـٰلِمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ‌ۖ هُوَ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ- He is Allaah, than Whom there is none who has the right to be worshipped but He, the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen (open). He is the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful]: This necessitates Tawheed Al-Asmaa Was Sifaat.

And the statement: [هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡخَـٰلِقُ ٱلۡبَارِئُ ٱلۡمُصَوِّرُ‌ۖ –  He is Allaah, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, the Bestower of forms” necessitates Tawheed Ar-Roboobiyyah].

These few Aayaat in the last part of Surah Al-Hashr necessitate all the categories of Tawheed. [Ref 3]

False Accusations of a Shiite Rafidi Takfeeree – Intoxicated With Grave Worship- Against So-called Wahhaabees And Calling to Extreme Violence After Grave He Worshipped Was Bombed!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee [hafidhahullaah] said:

The Raafidi Mujtabaa Al-Mahdee Ash-Sheeraazee stated after the blowing up of the tomb of Ali Ibn Muhammad Al-Haadi: Allaah (The Most High) said in His noble Book:

The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter. [5:33]

If this noble ayah is not a truthful confirmation about the Wahhaabi- the disbeliever, the terrorist, the Nawaasib (haters of the prophet’s family), the Wahshee (beast)], then who else does this noble ayah confirms their affair?! If this noble ayah is not a confirmation of the affair of those men of religion and those who are not men of religion – the helpers of the Wahhaabees- the disbelievers, the Nawaasib (haters of the prophet’s family), Wuhoosh (beasts etc.)]- due to the likes of this action (i.e. the blowing up of the tomb of Ali ibn Muhammad Al-Haadi), then who else does this noble ayah confirm their affair? If we disbelieve in the noble Qur’aan, then let us be brave and make clear what we believe. If we believe in the noble Qur’aan, then it is obligatory to kill the Wahhaabi-the terrorist, the Naasibi (hater of the prophet’s family), the Wahshee (beast)]. And whoever helps the Wahhaabi–whether he is a man of religion or not–with the likes of this action (i.e. the blowing up of that tomb) and others, then it is obligatory to kill him. And whoever says that it is not obligatory to kill these people and those who aid them, then he has announced his disbelief in the noble Qur’aan.

Look at this!  He utilises the term Wahhaabi and attributes it to terrorism when it is the case that the call of Imaam Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhaab (rahimahullaah) is based upon the way of the Sahaabah and the great scholars of the ummah in creed, methodology, politics and adhering to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Messenger. (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam). [End of quote Ref 1]

Finally, it is well known that the worship of graves and tombs is major Shirk. Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [rahimahullaah] said: “Shrines are graves and the Prophetic tradition regarding this affair is that graves are to be raised a hand span from the ground, so that they are recognised as graves and not degraded. This is why in the hadeeth of Sa’d Bin Abee Waqqaas [radiyallaahu-anhu] it is reported that the grave of the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] was raised a hand span and Sa’d also gave orders that the same should be done to his grave. As for building over them, taking them as Masaajid and building domes, this is not permissible. According to the people of knowledge, this is evil, innovation in religion and one of the means to Shirk. And due to this the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] stated in an authentic hadeeth: “The curse of Allaah is upon the Jews and Christians [i.e. those Jews who deviated from the pure message of Moosaa and those Christians who deviated from the pure message of the Messiah], because they took the graves of their Prophets as places of worship”. And in a hadeeth in Saheeh Muslim, the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] forbade that graves should be plastered (made into permanent structures), used as sitting places and building over them. Therefore, it is not permissible to build over graves – neither mosques nor domes, nor other than them, and also they are not to be plastered, because indeed this is one of the means to Shirk – one of the means, because it becomes exalted, invoked besides Allaah and help sought from it, and thus shirk occurs. Building over graves- placing domes, mosques and lamps over them are from the means to Shirk, and this is why the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] warned against it and cursed those who do so. It is obligated on the Muslims to be warned against this and that they do not build over a grave – neither a Masjid nor other than it, neither a dome nor plastered, neither place lamps on them nor shrouded. All this is not permissible, rather it is from the means to Shirk….” [End of quote Ref 2]

However, neither do we condone nor commit the terrorist acts of the terrorist devils of ISIS, Al-Qaida and their ilk. Even though the Raafidah Shiites are diseased grave worshipers, however none has the right to commit terrorist acts against them, such as when the devils of ISIS and Al Qaida attack them in their shrines and tombs. If shrines and tombs are to be removed, then this has to be done when the Muslim rulers give the command and neither do we do not take the law into our own hands nor exceed the command we are given by the Muslim authorities as long as such a command agrees with the command of Allaah and His Messenger. Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [rahimahullaah] said, “Stopping evil by the hand must be based on ability and should not result in greater corruption or evil. A man has the right to rectify matters with his hand in his home [i.e. based on what the law of the land allows him]; a manager has the authority to make changes with the hand within the organization they are responsible for, in accordance with the instructions that were given to them [i.e. the authority given to them by the state authorities]; otherwise, people should not change with their hand anything they are not authorised to change.  If they do make changes in matters that they have no authority over, this will result in more evil and great corruption between them and the people and between the people and the state”. [Ref 3]

The Basis of The Misguidance of The Khawaarij [ISIS, Al Qaida etc] And The Raafidah Shiites of Iran etc

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] said:

“The people of bidah, such as the khawaarij, they initiate an innovation [in the religion], excommunicate the one who opposes them and declare lawful the shedding of his [i.e. opponent’s] blood. These people [i.e. people of bidah] refute the bidah of each other, whilst he [i.e. the refuter] is also an innovator; so he refutes a bidah with another bidah, and falsehood with another falsehood”. [Ref 4]

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] also said:

“The basis of the misguidance of these ones is their belief that the Imaams of guidance and the Jamaa’ah [i.e. the Salafus Saaleh] have exited the (confines) of justice and are misguided. This is the view of those who have abandoned the Sunnah, such as the Raafidah and those similar to them. And that which they consider to be oppression, they hold that it’s disbelief and then innovate rulings for it. These are the three stances -[i.e. they revile the Salaf, declare certain acts as oppression and then innovate rulings against them] – held by those who exit the Sunnah, such as the Harooriyyah [i.e. khawaarij], the raafidah and those similar to them. They isolate some of the fundamental principles of the Islamic Religion until they exit from it (completely), just like an arrow goes through a hunted game”. [Ref 5]

Ahlul Hadeeth Hate Ahlul Bidah – Those Who Innovate Into The Religion

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [may Allaah preserve him] quoted Imaam As-Saabooni [rahimahullaah] who stated:

And they [i.e. Ahlul Hadeeth] hated Ahlul-Bid’ah – those who initiated into the religion what is not from it. They neither loved them nor keep company with them. They neither listened to their speech nor sit with them. They neither argued with them about the religion nor debated with them’’. Then Shaikh Rabee said: How is this [the case]? Is this [view introduced] from themselves or guidance from Allaah and His Messenger, and that which the Salafus Saaleh were upon? Allaah [Glorified and Exalted be He] warned against Ahlul Bidah and clarified for us that they are people of desires, and that they follow Mutashaabihaat [i.e. texts that are not entirely clear in what they indicate, so they are referred back to other texts to be explained] and they abandon the Muhkamaat [i.e. texts that are very clear]. Aa’isha [radiyallaahu-anhaa] said: The Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] recited this ayah:

It is He Who has sent down to you [Muhammad] the Book [this Qur’an]. In it are Verses that are (entirely clear, they are the foundations of the Book [and those are the Verses of Al-Ahkaam (commandments, etc.), Al-Faraa’id (obligatory duties) and Al-Hudood (legal laws for the punishment of thieves, adulterers, etc.)]; and others are Mutashaabihaat (i.e. not entirely clear in what they indicate, so they are to be referred back to the Muhkamaat to be explained]. So, as for those in whose hearts there is a deviation (from the truth) they follow that which is not entirely clear thereof, seeking Al-Fitnah (polytheism and trials, etc.), and seeking for its hidden meanings, but none knows its hidden meanings except Allaah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: ‘’We believe in it; the whole of it (clear and unclear Verses) are from our Lord.” And none receive admonition except men of understanding.’’ [Surah Aal Imraan. Aayah 7]  [Then] she [i.e. Aa’isha] said: The Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, ‘’If you see those who follow thereof that is not entirely clear, then they are those whom Allah has named [as having deviation (from the truth)] so beware of them’’. [Bukhaari Number 4547]

Allaah clarified that they [i.e. ahlul bidah] have desires [i.e. evil desires] and deviation with them, and that they intend to misguide themselves and other people! They desire trials and intend to misguide the people, and that is why the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] mentioned them and described their condition to us. He [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, ‘’And indeed there will appear a people out of my Ummah in whom desires will run through them just as rabies runs through a dog.’’

Ahlul Sunnah – no doubt – hate Ahlul bidah and Imaam [As Saabooni] mentioned a number of them [i.e. senior scholars of ahlul hadeeth] that they are all agreed upon hating [Ahlul bidah]. However, amongst them [i.e Ahlul bidah] there are du’aat [callers to their bidah]- they are neither to be sat with nor debated with, except in cases of necessity and for a Maslahah [i.e. a carefully assessed benefit identified by rightly guided scholars amongst the scholars]; [otherwise], it is not permissible to enter into debate with them. It is not permissible to enter into a specific debate with the rawaafid if you are weak [i.e. in knowledge and character], except if one is a man who is firmly grounded in knowledge and religion, [very proficient in] establishing evidences, clever and a possessor of [that force and strength that enables him to easily excel in debate with the clear proofs without being affected by doubts]; so if he sees a benefit in debating them, he debates them. [Allaah (The Most High) said]:

[وَجَادِلْهُم بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ  – and argue with them in a way that is better]. This is the legislated debate. Allaah did not close the door of debate completely, so if we have a way of establishing the proofs and to guide the people to good, we follow it. The one who is debated with may not benefit but others may benefit.

As for the weak one, then no [i.e. he does not engage in debate]. Even amongst the scholars there is one who is weak and one who is led to be mistaken by Shub’hah [i.e. a statement or affair that resembles the truth but is falsehood in reality]. He may be a scholar but his character is weak, so he becomes weak in the presence of Ahlul bidah, even if they are younger than him and lesser in knowledge! Indeed, it has happened to many of those who ascribe to the Sunnah and Hadeeth [ i.e. fell into some deviation or error] due to their weakness and opposition to the methodology of the Salaf. For example: Al Bayhaqqi was from the seniors of Ahlul hadeeth and their scholars, and was deceived by some of the Ashaa’irah such as Ibn Fawrak and his ilk, so he fell into Ash’ariyyah! How many among the youth- in this era – have been ruined at the hands of Ahlul bidah?! How many youth, middle age men and graduates from universities have been deceived by Ahlul bidah, and thus they fall into their arms?! They are deceived by the parties [of illegal partisanship] and thus fall into their arms! Why is this? Because they did not act upon the statement of the Messenger: “If you see those who follow thereof that is not entirely clear, then they are those whom Allah has named [as having deviation (from the truth)] so beware of them”. The strong one calls Ahlul bidah; he calls the Christians. There has to be dawah in the path of Allaah and there has to be strong scholars who disseminate the religion of Allaah; and when necessary, they debate so that the proofs are established and benefit one who is to benefit.

Hadeeth: Splitting Does Not Occur Between Two People Who Love Each Other, Except Due to a Sin Committed By One of Them

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Anas Bin Maalik [radiyallaahu-anhu] said that the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: ‘’There are not two people who love each other for the sake of Allaah, and then they split from each other, except that it is due to a sin of one of them’’. [Ref 1]

Reminders From the Above Hadeeth – By Al-Allaamah Zayd Bin Haadee [rahimahullaah]

This Hadeeth shows that to love one another – the religious and worldly benefits it contains – is legislated in the Sharee’ah. And regarding the religious benefits of this love, (it brings about) co-operation upon righteousness and piety; and as for its worldly benefits, it (results in attaining those) necessities of life that are sought after.

Those who love one another are attached to each other and remain upon that until one of them commits a sin that leads to the destruction of this legislated love- the love that was established for the sake of Allaah and for the sake of Islamic brotherhood. Therefore, it is a good thing that the person abandons the sin he committed, which was the cause of separation between them, so that brotherhood for the sake of Allaah is restored as it was before; and so that both the religious and worldly benefits of that brotherly love can continue. The basis of the sin committed by one of them may have occurred without any external influence [i.e. it was solely the person’s fault], or it may have occurred due to tale-carrying and instigated by some of the devils amongst mankind- those who hasten to caused corruption in the earth.

Loving one another for the sake of Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] carries reward that has been mentioned in the Sharee’ah texts. Abu Hurairah [radiyallaahu-anhu] reported that the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, “Allaah will give shade to seven on the day when there will be no shade but His [i.e. Shade from His Throne (Ref 2)]’’…and amongst those people are “Two people who love each other only for the sake of Allaah and they meet and part in Allaah’s cause only”. [Ref 3]

Anas [radiyallaahu-anhu] reported that the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: “Whoever possesses the following three qualities will have the (delight) of faith: The one whom Allaah and His Messenger become dearer to him than anything else; the one who loves a person and he loves him only for the sake of Allaah, and the one who hates to revert to disbelief as he hates to be thrown into the fire”. [Ref 4]

Therefore, O Muslim! After you have understood this, then take a severe warning regarding the causes – both statements and deeds- that will ruin the love that has been legislated for the Muslims to have for one another. Hasten towards the virtue of brotherhood and love for one another for the sake of Allaah due to its great and numerous rewards. Abu Hurairah [radiyallaahu-anhu] reported that the Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, “Allaah will say on the Day of Judgement, ‘Where are those who love each other for the sake of My Glory? Today, I will shelter them in my shade on a day when there is no shade but mine [i.e. the shade from Allaah’s Throne (Ref 5)]’”. [Ref 6]

Regardless Where We Live And The Circumstances of The Era, Never Forget The Manner In Which Our Lord Deals With Every Obstinate Denier of Truth!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Most High] says in Surah Al-A’raaf Ayah 100-102:

أَوَلَمۡ يَهۡدِ لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ أَهۡلِهَآ أَن لَّوۡ نَشَآءُ أَصَبۡنَـٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمۡ‌ۚ وَنَطۡبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِہِمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ

Is it not clear to those who inherit the earth in succession from its (previous) possessors, that had We willed, We would have punished them for their sins. And We seal up their hearts so that they hear not?

Meaning: Allaah [The Most High] informs those who inherit the earth in succession from those who preceded them, that He [The Most High] destroyed their forefathers due to their sins, yet they commit the same sins that were committed by their forefathers! Do they not take heed that had Allaah willed He would punish them due to their sins, for this is the manner in which Allaah deals with mankind – both the previous nations and those who inherited the earth after them. Allaah [The Most High] warned those who inherited the earth from the previous nations, but they did not take heed; sent them reminders but they did not reflect; showed them guidance through signs, but they did not follow guidance, so Allaah punished them by sealing their hearts – neither did truth enter their hearts nor did good reach their hearts; nor did they give an attentive ear [to the truth]; rather they only heard that which established the proofs against them.

Then Allaah [The Most High] said:[تِلۡكَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّ عَلَيۡكَ مِنۡ أَنۢبَآٮِٕهَا‌ۚ وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَتۡہُمۡ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَمَا ڪَانُواْ لِيُؤۡمِنُواْ بِمَا ڪَذَّبُواْ مِن قَبۡلُ‌ۚ كَذَٲلِكَ يَطۡبَعُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلۡڪَـٰفِرِينَ – Those were the towns whose story We relate unto you (O Muhammad). And there came indeed to them their Messengers with clear proofs, but they were not such as to believe in that which they had rejected before. Thus Allah does seal up the hearts of the disbelievers (from each and every kind of religious guidance)]-Meaning: Messengers came and called them to that which will lead to happiness [in the life and the next]. Those Messengers were given manifest signs and clear evidences to clarify the truth, but the people did not listen and thus were not benefited. And because they belied those manifest signs and clear proofs after being well aware of them, Allaah [The Most High] prevented them from accepting the sound and infallible creed ordained by Allaah. This was punishment on them because they rejected the truth, just as Allaah [The Most High] said in Surah Al-An’aam Ayah 110:

[وَنُقَلِّبُ أَفۡـِٔدَتَہُمۡ وَأَبۡصَـٰرَهُمۡ كَمَا لَمۡ يُؤۡمِنُواْ بِهِۦۤ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ۬ وَنَذَرُهُمۡ فِى طُغۡيَـٰنِهِمۡ يَعۡمَهُونَ – And We shall turn their hearts and their eyes away (from guidance), as they refused to believe therein for the first time, and We shall leave them in their trespass to wander blindly].

Then Allaah [The Most High] says in Ayah 102 Surah Al-A’raaf: [وَمَا وَجَدۡنَا لِأَڪۡثَرِهِم مِّنۡ عَهۡدٍ۬‌ۖ وَإِن وَجَدۡنَآ أَڪۡثَرَهُمۡ لَفَـٰسِقِينَ  –  And most of them We found not (true) to their covenant, but most of them We found indeed Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah)]-Meaning: The majority of the nations -to whom Allaah [The Most High] sent Messengers – were not true to their covenant. Neither were they steadfast nor did they adhere to the commands of Allaah, nor did they submit obediently to the commands of Allaah which the Messengers ordered them to obey; rather they followed their desires, except a very few of them. The majority of them turned away from guidance out of arrogance, so Allaah sent them various types of punishment.

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz Used to Be Here, So Show Us Someone Like Him In This Era?! – [Even When Evil Increases Good Still Remains]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Quote:

Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al-Badr [hafidhahullaah] said:

It has been reported in Shu’ab Al-Imaan by Bayhaqi [rahimahullaah] from Abee Mas’ood Al-Ansaari [radiyallaahu-anhu] who said, “A time will not reach you except that the time after it will be worse than it”; so they [i.e. the people] said, “Indeed, a time has reached us in which we had (things, harvest etc) in abundance and a time in which we did not have (things, harvest etc) in abundance”; so, he said, “By Allaah! Indeed, I neither mean your (era of abundant produce) nor your (era of scarcity or drought); rather I mean the disappearance of knowledge or the scholars. Indeed, before you there was Umar [radiyallaahu-anhu], so show me a time like his?!”

Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al-Badr [hafidhahullaah] then said,

“Perhaps it can be said [in relation to this statement of Abee Mas’ood (radiyallaahu-anhu)] regarding this era of ours, “(Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz) was here (i.e. alive amongst us not long ago), so show us someone like him (or an era like his)?!” However, good is still present. Even though the likes of these statements are transmitted, but also the texts regarding tranquillity, the people of virtue and that good will remain should be mentioned, such as the statement of the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam], “There will not cease to be a group of my Ummah who will be upon the truth, neither will they be harmed by those who oppose them nor by those who betray them until the establishment of the hour [i.e. the day of judgement]”.

Aasim Ibn Humaid [rahimahullaah] said,

“I heard Mu’aadh Ibn Jabal [radiyallaahu-anh] saying, ‘Indeed, you will not see in this Dunyaa except affliction and trial; the affair will not increase, except in severity and you will not see from the rulers except harshness [Ref 1]. You will not see an affair that is terrifying and causes you hardship, except that it will be lesser in severity than what will occur thereafter’. Imaam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal [rahimahullaah] said [i.e. after hearing this statement], ‘O Allaah! Make us pleased (with You)! O Allaah! Make us pleased (with You)’’’.

Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al-Badr [hafidhahullaah] said:

The author [rahimahullaah] transmitted  this narration in which Mu’aadh [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, “Indeed, you will not see in this Dunyaa, except affliction and trial” – Meaning: This Dunyaa is a place of affliction, trial and test. Allaah [Glorified and Exalted be He] said: [وَنَبۡلُوكُم بِٱلشَّرِّ وَٱلۡخَيۡرِ فِتۡنَةً۬‌ۖ وَإِلَيۡنَا تُرۡجَعُونَ   – And We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good, and to Us you will be returned. (Surah Al-Anbiyaa. Aayah 35)]

This Dunyaa is a place of affliction and trial, and therefore Mu’aadh [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, ‘’Indeed, you will not see in this Dunyaa except affliction and trial’’. Then Mu’aadh [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, “And the affair will not increase except in severity”- Meaning: The affair of the believers alternates between perfection and deficiency, and an era will not come to the people, except that the era thereafter will be lesser in (virtue).

Then Mu’aadh [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, “And you will not see from the rulers except harshness”- Meaning: The way you are will determine who will rule over you. Whenever deficiency occurs in the religious affairs of the people – deficiency related to their truthfulness to Allaah and in turning to Allaah [in obedience, submission etc], this will also be the state of the one who rules over them. https://www.abukhadeejah.com/the-tyranny-of-the-rulers-a-reason-for-rebellion/

Then Mu’aadh [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, “And you will not see an affair that is terrifying and causes you hardship, except that it will be lesser in severity than what will occur thereafter”- Meaning: It may be that a person witnesses an affair which he considers to be terrifying and difficult, but then another era comes thereafter and he considers it more severe than the one that occurred during his youth.

Mu’aadh [radiyallaahu-anhu] made these statements to notify the believer about the state he should be in when afflictions occur, so that he strives against his soul, remains steadfast upon the truth, turns truthfully to Allaah, pleased with Allaah, neither deviate nor be like those who are destroyed and seeks Allaah’s Protection against the trials – that which is apparent and that which is hidden. And this is the reason why Imaam Ahmad [rahimahullaah] said twice [i.e. after hearing Mu’aadh’s speech], “O Allaah! Make us pleased (with You)! O Allaah! Make us pleased (with You)”.

This shows what a Muslim should be upon during trials – that he should be pleased with Allaah in two ways: [رضىا بالله   and  رضا عن الله]. The meaning of Ridaa Billaah can be found in a hadeeth of Allaah’s Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi wasallam] as follows:

ذَاقَ طَعْمَ الإيمَانِ مَنْ رَضِيَ بِالله رَبّا وَ باْلإِسْلاَمِ دِيناً و بِمُحَمّدٍ رسولا

The one who pleased that Allah is his lord and Islam is his religion and  Muhammad is his messenger shall taste the sweetness of Eemaan’’.

As for Ridaa Anil laah, it can be found in the statement of Allaah: [رضي الله عنهم ورضوا عنه] and it is related to being pleased with Allaah’s reward and good recompense.

Therefore, with regards to the trials, it is obligated on a Muslim to turn to Allaah. Whenever the trial becomes more severe, he increases in turning to Allaah in [submission, obedience, reliance, humility etc]. Indeed, the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi wasallam] said, “Worship during Al-Harj [i.e. during chaos, confusion, disorder, fighting, killing etc] is like emigrating to me”. [More detail on affair, refer to the following link:https://masjidfurqan.co.uk/2018/07/29/the-great-virtue-of-busying-oneself-in-worship-during-times-of-fitan-and-returning-to-the-upright-scholars-of-the-ummah/

This shows that during trials, a Muslim should turn to Allaah – turn to worship, remembrance of Allaah, submit and humble himself to Allaah; but as for many other people, trials bussies (and diverts) them from remembrance of Allaah; rather many people are preoccupied with the trial (and are diverted) from obedience to Allaah. How many people are preoccupied with trials (and diverted) from establishing the prayer at its fixed time! How many people fall into evil due to Fitan! Fitan is destructive and no one is saved from it, except the one whom Allaah saves.

And in relation to Mu’aadh’s [radiyallaahu-anhu] statement, it has been reported in Shu’ab Al-Imaan by Bayhaqi [rahimahullaah] from Abee Mas’ood Al-Ansaari [radiyallaahu-anhu] who said, “A time will not reach you except that the time after it will be worse than it”; so they [i.e. the people] said, “Indeed, a time has reached us in which we had (things, harvest etc) in abundance and a time in which we did not have (things, harvest etc) in abundance”; so, he said, “By Allaah! Indeed, I neither mean your (era of abundant produce) nor your (era of scarcity or drought); rather I mean the disappearance of knowledge or the scholars. Indeed, before you there was Umar [radiyallaahu-anhu], so show me a time like his?!”

Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al-Badr [hafidhahullaah] then said, “Perhaps it can be said [in relation to this statement of Abee Mas’ood (radiyallaahu-anhu)] regarding this era of ours, “(Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz) was here (i.e. alive amongst us not long ago), so show us someone like him (or an era like his)?!” However, good is still present.

This proves that good will remain and the likes of these narrations [i.e. the narrations by Abee Mas’ood and Mu’aadh (radiyallaahu-anhumaa)] are not aimed at leaving a person in a state of hopelessness and despair; rather it is aimed at making him turn to Allaah [in obedience, submission, reliance, humility etc] and to be from the people of virtue, even if they are few.

Bidah Al-Mukaffirah and Bidah Al-Mufassiqah – [A Brief Clarification By Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Bidah Al-Mukaffirah and Bidah al-Mufassiqah

Bidah Al-Mukaffirah: It is the Bidah that is tantamount to disbelief. Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Madkhali (may Allaah preserve him) was asked whether there is a difference between Bidah Al-Mukaffirah and Bidah Al-Mufassiqah; so Shaikh said that there is Bidah Mukaffirah, such as rejecting the Ruyah (i.e. denying that the believers will see Allaah in the afterlife); rejecting Allaah’s Uluww [i.e. denying that Allaah is above his creation –Allaah ascended over the Throne in a way that benefits his majesty)]; invoking other than Allaah; offering slaughtered sacrifice (i.e. animals) to other than Allaah etc. These are affairs of Bidah Al-Mukaffirah (the bidah that is tantamount to disbelief).

But we do not make Takfeer of the people who commit this type of Bidah until we establish the proofs against them. That is because some of them (i.e. the people who fall into these affairs) carry doubts and are far away from the era of Prophethood and its light (i.e. guidance). So they fall into the likes these innovations.

Rejecting the Ruyah is disbelief; rejecting Allaah’s Uluww is disbelief; the saying that the Qur’aan is created is disbelief-major disbelief. But this person, -[who testifies that none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allaah, and he prays,  observes fasting, wants paradise and believes in that] -received the doubts of the people of falsehood, so he falls into the likes of these affairs (i.e. these innovations that are tantamount to disbelief). So we say to him: You have fallen into disbelief and the evidence is this and this, and we clarify for him.  So if Allaah grants him Tawfeeq and he returns to the truth, then all praise is due to Allaah. But if not, we declare him a disbeliever after establishing the proofs against him.

As for Bidah Al-Mufassiqah it is other than this [i.e. it is not at the level of that which is tantamount to disbelief]…. [Ref1]

Violent, Distort Truth and Persist Upon Error at all Costs Prior to Their Wretched End: [An Inheritance From Ancient Criminals]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Allaah [The Most High] says in Surah Al-Araf Ayah 127 that Fir’awn’s Chiefs said:

[وَقَالَ ٱلۡمَلَأُ مِن قَوۡمِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ أَتَذَرُ مُوسَىٰ وَقَوۡمَهُ ۥ لِيُفۡسِدُواْ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَيَذَرَكَ وَءَالِهَتَكَ – The chiefs of Fir’aun’s (Pharaoh) people said: “Will you leave Musa (Moses) and his people to spread mischief in the land, and to abandon you and your gods?]; Meaning: ‘’Moosaa and his people will cause corruption in the earth by calling us to adhere to the path of Allaah; so called noble manners and excellent deeds by way of which -as they claim- the affairs in the earth will be rectified, even though in reality they are upon nothing else but corruption. They want you and your gods to be abandoned; to warn against you and stop the people from following you’’.  Then Allaah [The Most High] says that Fir’awn replied to his chiefs, saying: [سَنُقَتِّلُ أَبۡنَآءَهُمۡ وَنَسۡتَحۡىِۦ نِسَآءَهُمۡ وَإِنَّا فَوۡقَهُمۡ قَـٰهِرُونَ – We will kill their sons, and let live their women, and we have indeed irresistible power over them]. Then Allaah [The Most High] informs us of the conversion between Moosaa [alayhis-salaam] said his people, whilst they faced this great trial and threat:

Musa (Moses) said to his people: “Seek help in Allah and be patient. Verily, the earth is Allah’s. He gives it as a heritage to whom He will of His slaves, and the (blessed) end is for the Muttaqun (the pious); they said: “We (Children of Israel) had suffered troubles before you came to us, and since you have come to us.” He said: “It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors on the earth, so that He may see how you act?” [7:128-129]

[An Excerpt from ‘Tayseer Al-kareem Ar-Rahmaan Fee Tafseer Kalaam Al-Mannaan’ by Imaam As-Sadi (rahimahullaah)]

A Person Does a Lot of Good And Keeps Away From Many Other Haraam Deeds, But Cannot Control The Tongue – [An Admonition For All of Us]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, he Bestower of Mercy.

Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al-Badr [hafidhahullaah] quotes from Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] who stated:

Disobedience appears agreeable to a human being, such as Gheebah [backbiting], Nameemah [tale carrying], [blameworthy] argumentation, self-praise – whether uttered blatantly or indirectly, verbally abusing the one you hate, praising the one you love and what is similar to that. An intense urge agrees with [the soul’s desire],  then it becomes easy for the tongue to move and thus one’s patience weakens; so due to this the Messenger [sallal laahu-alayhi wasallam] said to Mu’aadh [radiyallaahu-anhu], “Restrain your tongue”, so Mu’aad said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah! Will we be held accountable for what we say?’ He [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, ‘May your mother be bereaved of you, O Mu’aadh! Is there anything that topples people on their faces – or he said on their noses into the fire- other than the harvest of their tongues?!’” [Ref 1]

Regarding the statement: ‘’May your mother be bereaved of you, O Mu’aadh!’’ The Arabs used this statement for the purpose of persuasion and exhortation, and they did not intend its apparent meaning, which is ‘’May his mother lose him’’; rather what is intended is persuasion and exhortation. [Ref 2]

This urge occurs, especially when sinning through the tongue is habitual because it entices a person towards impatience. This is why you find that a man performs the night prayer, fasts during the day and refrains from reclining on a pillow made of silk out of fearing that he might enter into a doubtful affair that will affect him in the afterlife, but he backbites, spread tales and violates the honour of the people. [Ref 3]

Backbiting

Abu Hurairah [radiyallaahu-anhu] narrated that the Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, ‘’Do you know what backbiting is?’’ They (i.e. the sahaabah) replied Allaah and his Messenger know best’’; he said [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, ‘’It is to mention your brother what he dislikes’’. Someone asked, ‘’What if what I said is true?’’ He [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] replied, ‘’If what you said about him is true you have backbitten him, and if it is not true you have slandered him’’. [Muslim]

When is speaking about someone behind his back not considered backbiting? It is not considered backbiting when a person makes a complaint about an oppressor to a person who has the ability to stop the oppression; when seeking help to stop an evil- by making that known to the person who has the ability to stop the evil; when seeking for a fatwa; when warning the Muslims so that they are not deceived; when mentioning a person who commits his evil openly or one who calls to bidah and when identifying someone with a physical defect, whilst not intending defamation. [Ref 4]

A Similitude Regarding The Three Types of lands And Knowledge of The Sharee’ah

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Abu Moosaa [radiyallaahu-anhu] said that Allaah’s Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: “The example of guidance and knowledge with which Allaah has sent me is like abundant rain falling on the earth, some of which was fertile soil that absorbed the water and brought forth vegetation and grass in abundance. [And] another portion of it was hard and held the water and Allaah benefited the people with it and they utilised it for drinking, making their animals drink from it and for irrigation of the land for cultivation.

[And] a portion of it was barren which could neither hold the water nor bring forth vegetation [so that land gave no benefits]. The first is the example of the person who comprehends Allaah’s religion and benefit [from the knowledge] which Allaah has revealed through me, learns and then teaches others. The last example is that of a person who does not care for it and does not take Allaah’s guidance revealed through me. [He is like that barren land]”. [Saheeh Al-Bukhaari. Hadeeth Number 79. Book of Knowledge]

Imaam Muhammad Ibnu Saalih Al-Uthaymeen [rahimahullaah] said:

In this similitude, the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: “The example of guidance and knowledge with which Allaah has sent me with, is like abundant rain falling on the earth”. The earth [upon which the rain fell] is of three types: The First Type of Earth: It is the earth that absorbed the water and produced abundant grass and vegetation, so the people were benefited through that. The Second Type of Earth is a Plain: It retained the water and the people benefited from it.  They utilised it for drinking and as a source of irrigation [for their crops]. The Third Type of Earth: It absorbed the water but does not produce any benefit.  This is the relationship between the people and the knowledge and guidance with which the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] was sent with.

The First Category of People: Amongst them is one who has understanding of Allaah’s Religion. He learns and teaches- benefits the people and himself. This is similar to the earth that produces grass and vegetation, so that the people and animals eat from it.

The Second Category of People: They are a people who have been entrusted with the guidance, but they do not possess Fiqh [like the first category of people]. They transmit knowledge and Hadeeth amongst themselves, but they do not possess Fiqh [like the first group]. The similitude of these people is that of the earth that retained the water and the people were provided with water. They used it for drinking, their animals drank from it and they used it as a source of irrigation; but the earth does not produce anything.

The Third Category: The one who is not benefited by the knowledge and guidance given to the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam). He turns away and does not incline towards it.  He is neither benefited by that which the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] was sent with nor does he benefit others. His similitude is that of the earth that absorbed the water, but does not produce anything.
