‘Indeed Allaah is Pure and He does not accept, except that which is pure’

The Messenger of Allaah (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said:

‘Indeed Allaah is Pure and He does not accept, except that which is pure’

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al Fawzaan (may Allaah preserve him) said:

In this hadith he (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) described Allaah (جل وعلا) (saying) that Allaah (سبحانه) is Pure.  He (سبحانه) is Pure, meaning: He is free from all imperfections and deficiencies.  He is Pure in His Essence, in His Names and Attributes and with regards to His Commandments and Prohibitions.  He (سبحانه) is Pure in every aspect and imperfection cannot reach Him; and for that reason He does not accept actions, statements and intentions except that which is pure.  He does not accept filthy statements, actions and intentions.  He does not accept except the pure, as He (The Most High) said: [إِلَيۡهِ يَصۡعَدُ ٱلۡكَلِمُ ٱلطَّيِّبُ وَٱلۡعَمَلُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُ يَرۡفَعُهُۚ  ] ‘To Him ascend (all) the goodly words’[Surah Faatir Ayah: 10]

He (سبحانه) does not accept, except good speech and good actions…up until the Sheikh said: As for filthy speech, then indeed Allaah rejects and hates it; such as lies, backbiting, tale carrying, abuse, false speech and false testimony and all filthy statements; (such as) shirk and kufr.  All of this is filthy speech and does not ascend to Allaah, and is not accepted.

Softening the hearts-Paradise is for the one who exercises patience after losing a beloved one!

Narrated Abu Hurairah [radiyallaahu-anhu]: Allaah’s Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said, ”Allaah says, ‘I have nothing to give but Paradise as a reward to my slave, a true believer  of Islamic Monotheism, who, if I cause his dear friend amongst the people of the earth to die, remains patience and hopes for Allaah’s reward.’ [1]

Imaam Abdul-Azeez Bin Baaz (rahimahullaah) said: ‘Dear friend:  This means his beloved one, brother, father or wife. If he remains patient and hopes for Allaah’s reward, he will receive [the reward] of Paradise.

Our Salaf—Knowledge and Action [Sufyaan Bin Uyaynah and Al-Hasan Al-Basri]

Sufyaan Bin Uyaynah (rahimahullaah) said:

”If my morning is like that of the foolish and my night is like that of the ignorant,

then what will I do with the knowledge I wrote down?”

[Source: Akhlaaq Al-Ulamaa’ of Imaam Al-Aajurree. Page: 44]

Al-Hasan Al-Basri (rahimahullaah) said:

”When a man used to seek knowledge, it did not take long before (the effect) was seen in his eyesight; in his fear of Allaah; on his tongue; on his hands; in his prayer and his abstinence from the lawful but unnecessary worldly things.”

A Tremendous virtue which may be missing in our supplications

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Ibn Sadi (rahimahullaah) said:

The one whose aim in his supplication is to seek nearness to Allaah as well as obtain what he asks for, then indeed he has perfected a lot of (affairs) contrary to the one who only seeks after what he asks for, and such is the case with the majority of the people. Indeed this is a deficiency and a loss (for a person) in this tremendous virtue. So with regards to the likes of this affair, then let all the competitors (i.e. for good deeds and perfection in Iman) compete. This is from the fruits of beneficial knowledge, for indeed ignorance prevents many of the creation from lofty goals and the beautiful pathways (to success in this life and the next). Our Salaf: Abu Khaldah—I met a people who acted…..

Ibn Abee Dunyaa narrates from Al-Layth Bin Sad, from Ubaydullaah Ibn Abee Ja’far, from Abee Khaldah, who said:

”I met a people who used to act and not just speak; but today they (i.e. the people) just speak and do not act.”

Our Salaf: Ad-Dahhaak—I met a people who used to learn about Wara, but today…

Ibn Abee Dunyaa (rahimahullaah) narrates from Ad-Dahhaak (rahimahullaah) who said:

”I met a people who used to learn about Wara (i.e. acquainting themselves and being apprehensive about those things which they feared will ruin the affairs of their afterlife and avoiding them); but today they (i.e. the people) learn rhetoric.”
