Khutbah: Hold Firm to The Book & Sunnah

In this khutbah Ustaadh reminds us of the command of Allaah for us to implement and abide by The Qur’aan and The Sunnah of His Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam).

Allaah says in Surah Ali ‘Imran [3:102-103] in His Book:

“O you who believe! Fear Allah (by doing all that He has ordered and by abstaining from all that He has forbidden) as He should be feared. [Obey Him, be thankful to Him, and remember Him always], and die not except in a state of Islam (as Muslims) with complete submission to Allah. And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah (i.e. this Quran), and be not divided among yourselves”

Khutbah: Recommended Fasts After Ramadhaan

Fasting does not end at the end of Ramadhaan. Allaah has legislated other fasts which we can engage in to still attain the benefits of fasting and to keep us in that state of discipline & mindfulness towards Allaah.

Allaah has blessed that we were in the month of Ramadhaan and He has blessed us that we have completed the month.

Righteous deeds and the worship of Allaah do not end with the end of Ramadhaan. They should continue after the month of Ramadhaan.

Fasting in the month of Ramadhaan brought so many benefits for us, taught us many lessons, patience, perseverance, self control, self discipline. These things we can carry on outside the blessed month.

Let us all safeguard what Ramadhaan taught us. Let us safeguard those benefits and let us safeguard that purification & cleansing that we attained during the blessed month.

Khutbah: Ramadhaan Has Not Ended Yet

Allaah has favoured us and blessed us that we have reached the half way point of Ramadhaan.

For those who strive and have been striving since the beginning of Ramadhaan, continue to strive for indeed the promise of Allaah is Haqq. Stay upon that firmness till the end of Ramadhaan. Increase in good and righteous deeds for Ramadhaan has not ended yet.

For those who have been a bit lazy with the righteousness and the actions of obedience they could have done, likewise know that Ramadhaan has not ended yet. There is still time for you to rectify that which you need to rectify between you and your Lord.

Khutba: Ihsaan

Ustaadh Rayaan gives a tremendous Khutba regarding the highest level of Islaam. Ihsaan! Ustaadh touches upon the Hadith of Jibril and talks about this 3rd, highest level of Islaam.

Acquiring the level of Ihsaan requires exerting oneself and remaining patient upon that exertion.

Ihsaan is precision. A quality of being excellent and being proficient in performing the deeds. We should all aim for this level to gain that special closeness to Allaah. That greater reward and love from Allaah.

Khutbah: Provision – Seek It From Allaah

Allaah is great. He possesses all perfection. He possesses the most beautiful names and lofty attributes. And amongst His beautiful names is ar-Razzaaq. The All Provider. The One who provides for all of His creation.

Allaah says in Surah Al-A’raf [7:180]:

And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allaah, so call on Him by them.

So when you want to seek provision, from the best of ways is that you call upon Him using His name ar-Razzaaq.

Khutba: Knowledge – A Noble Attribute

Islam gives a lofty rank to knowledge. This is the knowledge of the Quraan and Sunnah. Also, it is the knowledge of what the companions and our righteous predecessors where upon (radhiallaahu ‘anhum). Their understandings, their practises, their piousness, their words, their fataawa, their advise, their explanations of the Quraan, and their explanations of the actions & the sayings of The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam).

In this khutba Ustaadh Rayaan mentions various ahadith that show us the importance of gaining beneficial knowledge. How it keeps us upon clarity, upon the straight path and how it keeps us far away from the different paths.

The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said, “When Allah wishes good for someone, He bestows upon him the understanding of Deen.”
Reported by Mu’awiyah (radhiallaahu ‘anhu) – [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Khutba: Prepare Answers for The Day of Questioning

The questioning in the grave is something that we all must face. The 3 questions that we all know off, we cannot refrain from answering them.

In this khutba Ustaadh Rayaan gives a stark warning of the questioning we will all face after our deaths. Our hearing, our hearts, our sight will be questioned. And they will speak. So we must examine our answers by examining our deeds.

The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said:

“A servants two feet will not move on the Day of Judgement until he is questioned about four (things):
His youth & how he spent it.
His knowledge & how he acted upon it.
His wealth, how he earned it & how he spent it.
And his body & how he used/wasted it.”
