Good companionship with the wife/wives–The Messenger is the best example to follow

Aisha (radiyallaahu-anhaa) said: The Messenger of Allaah would give me the cup and drink from it whilst I was on my menses; then I would give it to him and he would search for the place where my lips made contact (with the cup) and he would put his lips on the same place (i.e. he would place his lips on the same place and drink the contents). [1]

Al-Allaamah Abdul-Muhsin Al-Abbaad (may Allaah preserve him) said: This shows the Prophet’s (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) good companionship with his wives and kindness towards them.  [2]

Closeness to the wife/wives

Narrated Aisha (radiyallaahu-anhaa): ”The Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) used to lean on my lap during my menses and then would recite the Qur’aan.” [1]

Imaam Abdul-Azeez Bin Baaz (rahimahullaah) said:

”In this is an (indication) of his (i.e. the Prophet) humbleness and friendly (attitude) towards his family.” [2]
