[3] Demonstrations/Protests– A Few Reminders for the sensible person

Shaikh Saaleh As-Suhaymi (may Allaah preserve him) said:

Thirdly: His (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) statement: ”Beware! Avoid the commotions of the markets.” (1) Is this crowding (i.e. during demonstrations/protests) not severer than the commotions of the markets which has been forbidden, and (is it not) a trial and greater harm? (2)

The Commotions of the Markets: It is the free mixing; the disagreements; argumentation; raising of the voices; uproar and trials within it. (3)

Secondly: The statement of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam): “Beware! Avoid sitting on the roads.” (1) So if merely sitting on the roads is forbidden, then how about what those ones do by blocking the roads of the Muslims, obstructing their movements and ruining their (worldly) benefits. (2)

Avoid sitting on the roads.’They (the people) said, ”O Messenger of Allaah! We can’t help sitting (on the roads) as these are (our places) where we have talks. The Messenger of Allaah (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ”If you refuse but to sit, then pay the road its right’ They said, ‘What is the right of the road, O Messenger of Allaah? Bigotry; Blameworthy love of the Dunyah; Envy and Pride are obstacles to accepting the truth

Al-Allaamah Abdur-Rahmaan Ibn Yahyah Al-Mu-allimee (rahimahullaah) stated that the Religion comprises of various levels: Abstinence from the prohibited affairs and fulfilment of commandments; acknowledgment of truth, belief in it and awareness of it.  And opposing one’s desires by refraining (from falsehood) for the sake of the truth is something very clear, for indeed most of what is prohibited are the lusts and (evil) pleasures.  And it may be that a person does not really desire anything of those (prohibited) things in particular, but he merely desires them due to an opponent. Opposing one’s desires–by way of action– for the sake of the truth is a manifest affair due to what it necessitates of responsibility and difficulty, and this occurs from different angles:

Firstly: A person sees that by acknowledging the truth it would necessitate that he was upon falsehood, because a person is nurtured upon a religion, creed, school of thought or views which were inherited from his nurturer and teacher, and which he considers to be the truth; so when it is manifested that those affairs are falsehood, it becomes difficult for him to acknowledge that. This is because he sees that the deficiencies of his teacher or nurturer necessitate his own deficiencies, and an acknowledgement of their misguidance or errors necessitates his own deficiencies…..

Secondly: It may be that clinging to falsehood brings him prestige, fame and a livelihood, so it becomes difficult for him to acknowledge that he is upon falsehood, which may result in a loss of all those things (i.e. the fame, prestige, livelihood etc).

Thirdly: Pride: It may be that a person is upon ignorance or falsehood, so another person comes along and clarifies the proofs for him; but he sees that by acknowledging such proofs, it would necessitate that he is deficient and that it was such a person who guided him. And due to this we find that it is not difficult for some of those who attribute themselves to knowledge to acknowledge their mistakes when it becomes manifests to them in their researches and studies, but it becomes difficult upon them when others clarify such mistakes for them.

Fourthly: Envy: It may be that when another person clarifies the truth for him, he sees that by acknowledging such truth, it would necessitate an acknowledgement of the clarifier’s virtue, knowledge and correctness due to that clarification; so this may become great in the eyes of the people and they begin to follow him. So you will find some of those who attribute themselves to knowledge being eager to prove the mistakes of other scholars even if that is done by way of falsehood, due to envy and seeking to diminish their status amongst the people.

Opposing one’s desires for the sake of the truth in affairs of knowledge and creed can be difficult, so it requires research and contemplation. Also in facing such difficulty one is in need of asking the scholars and benefitting from them. So with regards to what has been stated about a person’s acknowledgement of the truth and the difficulty in doing so, he should cling to Taqwah, whilst seeking the Tawfeeq of Allaah and guidance. They are neither Qurraa (i.e. reciters of the Qur’aan who follow it as it should be followed) nor are they a people of astute understanding in the religion. Neither are they scholars in the (science) of explanation of the Qur’aan nor are they worthy of this affair (with regards to what has already) taken place in Islaam.  By Allaah! If they were to be placed in charge over your affairs, they would (perpetrate) the deeds of Khosrau (i.e. Chosroes) and Heracles amongst you. Travelling to Syria to Fight: [Shaikh Abdul Muhsin Al-Abbaad fears evil and corruption for you]

After the Shaikh (may Allaah preserve him) was asked about travelling to Syria to join the fighting, he said that the people of Syria are in need of du’aa, so a person should hasten to make du’aa for them. As for a person traveling to Syria, then it is feared that he will be similar to those who went to Iraq and brought about evil and corruption upon themselves.

Brief Scholarly Observations on the Chief Guide and Mentor (Sayyid Qutub) of the Contemporary [Khawaarij –Takfeeris- Terrorists]

Imaam Abdul-Azeez Bin Baaz (rahimahullaah) said:

”He (i.e. Sayyid Qutub) is lost (with regards to) Tafseer.” [1]

Imaam Albaani (rahimahullaah) said:

”He (i.e. Sayyid Qutub) does not possess an understanding of Islaam based on its (sound) fundamental and subsidiary issues.” [2]

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen (rahimahullaah) said:

”Shaikh Abdullaah Duwaish and Shaikh Rabee have observations on Sayyid Qutb’s Tafseer, so whoever wants to refer to (those observations) can do so.” [3]

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Luhaydaan (may Allaah preserve him) said:

”The books of Sayyid Qutb are filled with affairs that are in opposition to (sound) Islamic Creed.” [4]

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi (may Allaah preserve him) stated after mentioning a few books of sayyid Qutub:

”They gather the major innovations in them.” [5]

The People of Common Sense are agreed that…..Imaam Sadi (rahimahullaah)

Imaam Sadi (rahimahullaah) stated about the Prophets and Messengers (alayhimus salaam):

Allaah guided them to the straight path -in knowledge and deeds, particularly the Ulul Azm (The five best Prophets and Messengers—Muhammad, Nuh, Ibraaheem, Musa and Isa] All these Messengers were from the righteous servants of Allaah; rather they are from the foremost of the righteous servants and guides of the righteous servants. Allaah chose them and guided them to the straight path. This is the guidance of Allaah besides which there is no other guidance. [1]

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said:

Every person who accepts the statements of these atheists is one of two people; either he is ignorant about their affair or that he is an oppressor who wishes for ascendancy and corruption in the earth or combines both traits in him. This was the state of affairs of the followers of pharaoh about whom Allaah stated: [فَٱسۡتَخَفَّ قَوۡمَهُ ۥ فَأَطَاعُوهُ‌ۚ – ”Thus he [Fir’aun (Pharaoh)] befooled and misled his people, and they obeyed him. ” [Soorah Zukhruf: Ayah: 54] [2]

The people of common sense are agreed that the one whose perception or manners are corrupted or both of them, then his statements will become nonsensical. [3]

Rectification of Mankind and the Worldly Sciences–Imaam Sadi (rahimahullaah)

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy

Indeed, it is absolutely impossible to rectify the souls and acquire virtuousness solely through the worldly sciences. Experience and clearly witnessed circumstances are the greatest proofs of that; because despite its advancement and vastness it has been absolutely unable to nurture and rectify the souls (upon excellent traits, manners, dealings, characteristics, creed) through which the rectification and success of mankind is dependent. Rather what the Religion of Islaam came with is that which is entrusted and commissioned with this rectification and sound upbringing. It is what is entrusted and commissioned with giving directions to the thoughts towards the truthful and authentic sources of knowledge; in directing the actions of the people towards good and preventing them from evil. Islam is The Rectifier for the creeds and manners. It is The Thing that cultivates the thoughts (upon goodness), urges towards virtuousness and prevents from depravity.

Therefore, the essence of that which the religion calls to of belief in the Unseen, in which enters belief in Allaah and that which He possesses of Names, Attributes and Actions of perfection; belief in Angels, belief in recompense for one’s good and bad deeds in this life and the next, which cannot be known except through the Messengers; this acquaints a person with the fact that real rectification is not possible through other than sound belief and the religion of Islaam.

Therefore, even if the worldly sciences mend affairs based upon that which the people know in great detail, it will still not be equal to the sources of knowledge of the Messengers (in the least). It will neither reach that which is reached through the sources of knowledge of the Messengers nor can it affect the souls in the manner in which the sources of knowledge of the Messengers do. For indeed the souls do not voluntarily submit except through belief in Allaah, belief in His Angels, belief in His Books, belief in His Messengers and belief in the hereafter.  And without this, voluntary submission is impossible, as is well known of human nature.

The Deviant Ways of The [الْأَحْزاب السِّيَاسِيَّة ] and Sayyid Qutb are utilised to attack Salafiyyah!

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi (may Allaah preserve him) said:

Then the political parties (or groups) came in this era (whilst) being affected- to some extent-with the creed and methodologies of this sect (i.e. the khawaarij). And for this reason they do not give importance to (other affairs) besides politics. They neither have any concern in rectifying the state of affairs of the Ummah though (sound) Creed and Knowledge nor do they reflect about returning the Ummah to the Book and the Sunnah, and to that which the Salafus Saaleh were upon of steadfastness and righteousness in every aspect of the Religion. Rather they [i.e. these political parties (or groups) increase the Ummah in corruption upon corruption—in creed and manners. So you see them giving allegiance to the people of bidah and misguidance. They wage war against the people who (truly) follow the Qur’aan and the Sunnah, (and they wage war against) their scholars (i.e. the scholars of those who truly adhere to the Qur’aan and the Sunnah). And they apportion untrue resolutions and false slogans for ahlul bidah wad-dalaalah (i.e. the people of bidah and misguidance) and their books—and from them (i.e. those ahlu bidah wad-dalaalah) are Sayyid Qutb and his followers.

Sayyid Qutb; the one who set out upon the stratagem of the Khawaarij, the Rawaafid, the Mu’tazilah and the Jahmiyyah—in creed, methodology and politics–, especially in the affair of making (false) takfeer based on oppression and ignorance. According to him (i.e. sayyid Qutb) all human societies are societies of Pre-Islamic ignorance and the Muslim Ummah is the severest in its apostasy and Pre-Islamic state of ignorance…..up until the Shaikh (i.e. Shaikh Rabee) said: Then the path of the Baatiniyyah was added to this nurturing, (such) as assassinations, (causing) explosions etc. And at this juncture, his followers attribute themselves to the Salafi Methodology with a mighty plot against its (true, upright) leaders.

(So) when you come to know this, then you will know that the Salafi Methodology is free from this (type) of Takfeer, (the evil act of causing) explosions and destruction. And you will know who the people of this treachery are. If you know this, then it is an act of manifest oppression when those given to [falsehood, oppression and lies etc amongst] the Raafidah, the Secularists and Rationalists come along and attribute what takes place of (terrorist) explosions, (false) takfeer and destruction to the Salafi Methodology.

The Severest Fitnah in this Era

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi (may Allaah preserve him) said:

”Indeed, the Fitnah of this man (1) and those with him is the Fitnah of this era. It is the severest fitnah in this era; because it (falsely) wears the garb of the Salafi Methodology (i.e. falsely attributes itself to Salafiyyah) (2)
