A Summary of The Khutbah Today at Masjid Al-Furqaan

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَعِنْدَهُ مَفَاتِحُ الْغَيْبِ لَا يَعْلَمُهَا إِلَّا هُوَ – And with Him are the keys of the Ghaib (all that is hidden), none knows them but He] [6:59]

In his explanation of the above Ayah, Imaam Ash-Shanqeetee [rahimahullaah] cited a number of robust proofs to demonstrate and establish the fact that even the most knowledgeable amongst the creation- Allaah’s Messengers and Angels-do not posses knowledge of the Unseen.

Proof 1: Aa’isha [radiyallaahu-anhaa] was falsely accused and the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] did not know whether she was innocent or not until Allaah [The Most High] informed him, saying: [ أُولَٰئِكَ مُبَرَّءُونَ مِمَّا يَقُولُونَ- Such (good people) are innocent of (each and every) bad statement which they say] [24:26]

Proof 2: Prophet Ibraaheem [alayhis-salaam] slaughtered a lamb for the angels, whilst not knowing that they were angels until they informed him that they were angels. Allaah [The Most High] said that the angels said to Ibraaheem: [إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ    – We have been sent against the people of Lout (Lot). (11:70)]

Proof 3: When the angels came to Prophet lut [alayhis-salaam], he did not know that they were angels, and due to that Allaah said: [وَلَمَّا جَآءَتۡ رُسُلُنَا لُوطً۬ا سِىٓءَ بِہِمۡ وَضَاقَ بِہِمۡ ذَرۡعً۬ا وَقَالَ هَـٰذَا يَوۡمٌ عَصِيبٌ۬ – And when Our Messengers came to Lout (Lot), he was grieved on their account and felt himself straitened for them (lest the town people should approach them to commit sodomy with them). He said: Allaah [The Most High] also said that lut [alayhis-salaam] said: [لَوْ أَنَّ لِي بِكُمْ قُوَّةً أَوْ آوِي إِلَىٰ رُكْنٍ شَدِيدٍ  – Would that I had strength (men) to overpower you, or that I could betake myself to some powerful support (to resist you). (11:80)].

He did not know what news the angels brought until they said to him: [إِنَّا رُسُلُ رَبِّكَ لَنْ يَصِلُوا إِلَيْكَ – Verily, we are the Messengers from your Lord. They shall not reach you!] [11:81]

Proof 4: Prophet Ya’qoob [alayhis-salaam] lost his eyesight due to grieving for Yusuf [alayhis-salaam], whilst he was in Egypt. He did not know anything about Yusuf until Allaah reveal news about him.

Proof 5: Prophet Sulaymaan [alayhis-salaam], even though Allaah [The Most High] gave him authority over the devils and subjugated the wind in his service, he did not know about the people Bil-Qees until the Hud’hud came with news about them. Allaah [The Most High] said that Hud’hud said: [أَحَطْتُ بِمَا لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهِ وَجِئْتُكَ مِنْ سَبَإٍ بِنَبَإٍ يَقِينٍ  – I have grasped (the knowledge of a thing) which you have not grasped and I have come to you from Saba’ (Sheba) with true news] (27:22)]

Proof 6: Prophet Nuh [alayhis-salaam] did not know that his son – who was drowned- was not included amongst those members of his household who were to be saved, as Allaah [The Most High] said that Nuh said: [رَبِّ إِنَّ ابْنِي مِنْ أَهْلِي وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ   – O my Lord! Verily, my son is of my family! And certainly, Your Promise is true.(11:45)].  He did not know the reality of the affair until Allaah informed him, saying: [قَالَ يَـٰنُوحُ إِنَّهُ ۥ لَيۡسَ مِنۡ أَهۡلِكَ‌ۖ إِنَّهُ ۥ عَمَلٌ غَيۡرُ صَـٰلِحٍ۬‌ۖ فَلَا تَسۡـَٔلۡنِ مَا لَيۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٌ‌ۖ إِنِّىٓ أَعِظُكَ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡجَـٰهِلِينَ – He [Allaah] said: “O Nuh (Noah)! Surely, he is not of your family; verily, his work is unrighteous, so ask not of Me that of which you have no knowledge! I admonish you, lest you be one of the ignorant]. [11:46]

And indeed Allaah [The Most High] also stated in Surah Hud about Nuh [alayhis-salaam] that he said to his people: [وَلَا أَقُولُ لَكُمْ عِنْدِي خَزَائِنُ اللَّهِ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ -And I do not say to you that with me are the Treasures of Allah, “Nor that I know the Ghaib (unseen)..] [11:31]

Proof 7: And when Allaah said to the Angels:  [أَنۢبِـُٔونِى بِأَسۡمَآءِ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِينَ -Tell Me the names of these if you are truthful]; Allaah said that the angels replied: [قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ لَا عِلْمَ لَنَا إِلَّا مَا عَلَّمْتَنَا  – Glory be to You, we have no knowledge except what you have taught us]. [2:31-32]

Therefore, it is very clear that the most knowledgeable amongst the creation- the Messengers and the Angels- do not know anything of the unseen except what Allaah makes known to them. Allaah [The Most High] informs His Messengers what He wishes from the knowledge of the Unseen, as Allaah stated: [وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ عَلَى الْغَيْبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَجْتَبِي مِنْ رُسُلِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۖ- Nor will Allah disclose to you the secrets of the Ghaib (unseen), but Allah chooses of His Messengers whom He pleases][3:179]

And Allaah said: [عَـٰلِمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ فَلَا يُظۡهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيۡبِهِۦۤ أَحَدًا- (He Alone) the All-Knower of the Gha’ib (unseen), and He reveals to none His Gha’ib (unseen)]; [إِلَّا مَنِ ٱرۡتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولٍ۬ -Except to a Messenger (from mankind)…]. [72:26-27]

End of quote from Imaam Shanqeetee [rahimahullaah]

Indeed, Allaah does not reveal knowledge of the Unseen to anyone, except to Prophets and Messengers when he wishes to do so. So, if anyone claims that he (or she) knows the future or his (or her) Shaikh knows the future, then remind them of what has been stated in the above article as well as what is stated in the following authentic hadeeth reported by Imaam Al-Bukhaari:

Narrated Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu-anhu):

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “When Allah has ordained some affair in the Heaven, the angels beat with their wings in obedience to His statement, which sounds like a chain dragged over a rock.” (`Ali and other sub-narrators said, “The sound reaches them.”) “Until when fear is banished from their (angels) hearts, they (angels) say, ‘What was it that your Lord said? They say, ‘The truth; And He is the Most High, the Most Great.’ (34.23) Then those who gain a hearing by stealing (i.e. devils) will hear Allah’s Statement:– ‘Those who gain a hearing by stealing, (stand one over the other like this). (Sufyan, to illustrate this, spread the fingers of his right hand and placed them one over the other horizontally.) A flame may overtake and burn the eavesdropper before conveying the news to the one below him; or it may not overtake him till he has conveyed it to the one below him, who in his turn, conveys it to the one below him, and so on till they convey the news to the earth. (Or probably Sufyan said, “Till the news reaches the earth.”) Then the news is inspired to a sorcerer who would add a hundred lies to it. His prophecy will prove true (as far as the heavenly news is concerned). The people will say. ‘Didn’t he tell us that on such-and-such a day, such-and-such a thing will happen? We have found that is true because of the true news heard from heaven.” The above hadith is also narrated by Abu Huraira, starting: ‘When Allah has ordained some affair…’) In this narration the word foreteller is added to the word wizard.

It Is Better To Pray In The Salafi Masjid- By Shaykh Muqbil bin Haadee al-Waadi’ee

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Question:
There is a Masjid near us whose Imaam is an Ikhwaanee who has with him oppositions to the Sharee’ah and when we pray in this Masjid they ridicule us and flee from us, so should we remain calling in this Masjid whilst in the presence of this harm, considering that the Salafi Masjid is far away?

Answer:

If you are able to go to the Salafi Masjid then I advise you with that and you will gain benefit in performing your prayer in accordance to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah and also that you will benefit from tranquil affability with your brothers and much virtue and moral excellence. For indeed there is a Hadeeth in Saheeh Muslim on the authority of Jaabir Bin ?Abdullaah, who said:

Some plots of land became vacant around the Masjid therefore Banu Salimah decided to relocate near the Masjid. When the news of that reached the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) he said to them:

Indeed it has reached me that you intend to relocate near the Masjid.

They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allaah that is what we have decided. Thereupon he (the Prophet) said:

‘’O Banu Salimah, live in your houses, for your steps are recorded; live in your houses, for your steps are recorded.’’
Meaning: Stay in your houses which are far away from the Masjid so that your steps are recorded for you.
And in the Saheehayn (Sahih al-Bukharee and Saheeh al-Muslim) on the authority of Abu Hurairah (radiAllaahu -anhu) that verily the Prophet of Allaah(sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

He who performs ablution and purifies himself well, then leaves to go the Masjid and nothing causes him to go out except for the Prayer, he does not take a step except that it raises him in rank and a sin is removed from him. And if he prays the angels do not cease to pray for him, as long as he is at his Musalla (praying place): O Allaah, send prayers upon him, O Allaah, have mercy upon him?. And each one of you is regarded in prayer so long as he is waiting for the Prayer.

Hence, if they are able to attend the Salafi Masjid this is a pleasant affair if not then I advise them to acquire/obtain a Masjid for themselves which is not over burdensome in expenditure for truly the Prophet (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) says: ‘’I was not ordered with building lofty extravagant Masjids.’’

And he also said: The Hour will not be established until the people vie with one another in boastfulness with regards to the Masjids.

So the Sunnah is that the Masjid should be modest and simple. And if you are able to [construct] the Masjid, that it is like the Masjid of the Messenger of Allaah(sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) then do so, if you are not able to then do not overburden yourself and do not be lavish in building the Masjids for indeed it is opposes the Sunnah, likewise the adornments and the minarets. Also the likes of what they call al-Mihraab and that which they put up on the four corners of the Masjids and what they call ash-Shurufaat (balconies and terraces), this was not found in the Masjid of the Messenger of Allaah when he built it at that time and likewise the Mimbar which is elevated in excess of three steps.

Wa Laa Illaaha IllAllaah, for indeed there has not come to me a person regardless of whether he is from Eritrea or from Indonesia or from the Sudan and other than them from the Islamic countries except that he complains from the harms of Ikhwaan al-Mufliseen* (Brotherhood of the Bankrupt Ones) to the Ahlus-Sunnah. Then I say, to Allaah is the complaint, so they are ready to reconcile with the communist and with the Mulhid (atheist) and with the Secularist and with the Bathists, and with the Naasirites and with the Sufis and with the Shiites whilst they are not prepared to reconcile with the Sunni except when the time for elections draws near, indeed then they say: Be silent concerning us and we will remain silent concerning you.

This Man is from Ahlul Bidah! [Does This Necessitate That He is a Mubtadi?]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower  of Mercy

Questioner asked Shaikh Ubaid [may Allaah preserve him]: The questioner says: Assalaamu alaykum warahmatullaahi wabarakaatuhu. We hear a statement from some of the Mashaayihk of Ahlus Sunnah: ‘’This man is from the people of Bidah’’; is it understood that he is a Mubtadi [an innovator] or not?’’

Answer: What I have knowledge of is that this statement has two applications according to Ahlus Sunnah. The first of them and it is what is meant in most cases is that he is a Mubtadi [an innovator]. He knows the truth but he is an obstinate person. He refuses [truth], but not deviation; he knows the Sunnah, but refuses to follow it and [follows] Bidah. He commits Bidah whilst knowing that it is bidah.

The other meaning is that this man is a person upon innovation-meaning: He commits bidah even though he is not an innovator, because what we know regarding the methodology of Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaaa’ah is that they do not declare any specific person an innovator until the proofs are established against him.

Corruptors Claiming To Be Rectifiers! | Shaykh Rabee’ Ibn Haadee al-Madkhali (Hafithahullah)

Shaykh Rabee bin Hadee Al-Madhkali [May Allah preserve him]:

Allaah [Subhaanahu wa Ta’ala] said:

‘And when it is said to them, “do not cause corruption on the earth,” they say, “we are but reformers”.’

Every sinner and every corruptor in earth does not tell the people that he is a corruptor; rather  indeed he tells them, “I am a rectifier” and he claims that he is guiding the ummah to rectification.

What Do We Utilise When Dealing With The Innovations? – Al-‘Allamah Shaikh Rabee ibn Haadee al-Madkhali (Hafithahullah)

Al-Allaamah Rabi’ Bin Hadee Al-Madhkali [May Allah preserve him] said :

“If we are to devote ourselves in confronting the difficult affairs, such as the bid’ah [innovations brought into the religion] and other than them, then it is obligated on us to adhere to that which the Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] and his rightly guided Caliphs were upon. We distinguish -by way of that- between guidance and misguidance, [between] truth and falsehood, and [between] Sunnah and bidah.

Salafiyyah Has To Be Differentiated From The Paths of The Hizbiyyoon! – Shaykh al-Allaamah Rabi’ ibn Haadee al-Madkhali (Hafithahullah)

Al-Allaamah Rabi’ bin Hadee al-Madkhalee [may Allaah preserve him] said:

“Salafiyyah and the path upon the cannot be actualised until it is distinguished from the [path of] the people of Innovation and illegal Partisanship- inwardly [in one’s heart] and outwardly [through one’s actions].”

Absolute Safety Is Found In The Path of The Salaf And Beware of Ahlul Bidah! – Shaykh al-Allaamah Zaid ibn Haadi al Madkhali (Rahimahullah)

Al-Allaamah Zaid Ibn Muhammad Al-Madhkali ( May Allah have mercy on him ) said :

“And beware! Beware of falling into innovation and mixing [with] its people, and beware of listening to their deceptive [statements] and arguments because it is a disease. Indeed safety- absolute safety- is found in clinging to the Quran and Sunnah based on the correct understanding- the [understanding] of the Salafus Saaleh [the righteous predecessors], which cannot be attained except by way of ernest effort and striving in seeking understanding of the religion, with the righteous intention, wisdom [in the manner of] attaining and conveying [it].”

Why Do Ahlul Bidah Describe Ahlus Sunnah With Vile Descriptions? Shaykh Zayd al Madkhalee (Rahimahullaah)

Al -Allaamah Zayd bin Muhammad Al-Madkhalee (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

“There is no doubt that the vile descriptions uttered by the people of innovation- past and present- which they apply to ahlus sunnah is dictated to them by [their] vain desires, shaytaan and the soul that is inclined to evil.”
