Shaikh Muhammad Baazmool (may Allaah preserve him) said in his book titled ‘Al-Muhkam Wal Mutashaabih Fit Takfeer Wal Jihaad’ page 47:

It is Haraam to make takfeer of a Muslim without a Mukaffirah [i.e. a deed of major disbelief he (or she) has committed] or without establishing the proofs. [1]

When do we call a person a student of knowledge? [Reminder for those who say: We only invite those who have graduated!]

Question to Shaikh Ubaid Al-Jaabiri (may Allaah preserve him):

When is the (term) Taalib Al-Ilm (Student of knowledge) applied to a person?

Answer:

If a person is known for (his) adherence to the people of knowledge (i.e. the scholars) and taking from them (i.e. seeking knowledge) from them, he is called a student of knowledge. [End of quote]

In the West we have been blessed with salafi students of knowledge- graduates from Madeenah University as well as others who have been seeking knowledge from the scholars for many years. They are known to the scholars for their trustworthiness and firmness upon the Manhaj As-Salafi. They are known to Shaikh Ubaid, Shaikh Rabee, Shaikh Muhammad Bin Haadi, Shaikh Abdullaah Al-Bukhaari and others (may Allaah preserve them all). An Envious person oppresses him (or herself)

Al-Hasan al-Basri (rahimahullaah) said:

I have not seen an oppressor who oppresses himself similar to an envious person! He (or she) is always frustrated; permanently sad and upon a distress that never comes to an end.

Mu’aawiyah Bin Abee Sufyan mentions one of the goals of the envious person

Mu’aawiyah Bin Abee Sufyaan (radiyallaahu-anhumaa) said: I am able to please all the people (in what is lawful) except the one who harbours envy towards a blessing (bestowed on a person) because he will never be pleased until that blessing ceases.

A means to safety and authority for the Ummah

Allaah (The Most High) stated:

وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُم فِي الْأَرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِينَهُمُ الَّذِي ارْتَضَى لَهُمْ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُم مِّن بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ أَمْنًا يَعْبُدُونَنِي لَا يُشْرِكُونَ بِي شَيْئًا وَمَن كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ

Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا رَبَّنَا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ

“Our Lord! Make us not a trial for those who have disbelieved, and forgive us, Our Lord! Verily, You, only You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.” [60:5]

Mujaahid (rahimahullaah) said: The meaning of it is: Neither punish us at their hands nor through a punishment from yourself, so they say: ‘’Had these (Muslims) been upon the truth they would not have been afflicted with this (punishment).

Az-Zujaaj (rahimahullaah) said: The meaning of it is: Do not give them victory over us, so they think that they are upon truth and we are put to trial by way of that.
