Musa (alayhis-salaam) advised them with a great affair!

Allaah (The Most High) said:

And Musa (Moses) said: “O my people! If you have believed in Allah, then put your trust in Him if you are Muslims (those who submit to Allah’s Will).” They said: “In Allah we put our trust. Our Lord! Make us not a trial for the folk who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing) (i.e. do not make them overpower us). And save us by Your Mercy from the disbelieving folk.” [10:84-86]

Reminders from Imaam Sadi (rahimahullaah)

They asked their Lord not to put them to trial-neither by way of being placed under the authority of a people who would then put them to trial, nor to be defeated and then they fall into trial, saying: Had we been upon the truth we would not have been defeated.

They are put to trial once or twice every year!

Allaah (The Most High) said:

أَوَلَا يَرَوۡنَ أَنَّهُمۡ يُفۡتَنُونَ فِى ڪُلِّ عَامٍ۬ مَّرَّةً أَوۡ مَرَّتَيۡنِ ثُمَّ لَا يَتُوبُونَ وَلَا هُمۡ يَذَّڪَّرُونَ

See they not that they are tried once or twice every year? Yet, they turn not in repentance, nor do they learn a lesson (from it).’’ [9:126]

Reminders from Imaam Sadi (rahimahullaah)

(Put to trial) by way of calamities and diseases and (by way of the) the divine laws. However, they neither turn in repentance nor (abandon) what they are upon of evil, nor do they learn a lesson with regards to what would benefit them, so that they may act upon it. Nor (do they learn a lesson with regards to) what is harmful to them, so that they may abandon it.

Allaah (The Most High) put them to the test—and this is Allaah’s way with all the nations— through poverty (or loss in wealth), loss of health and calamities and through commands and prohibitions, so that they might turn to Allaah; but they neither repent nor learn a lesson.

In this Ayah is proof that Imaan increases and decreases and that it is obligated upon the believer to examine his Imaan- paying close attention to it, improving and making it grow (through the means that Allaah has prescribed for its improvement and growth), so that it constantly rises.

They deserved disgrace in this life and the next due to their filthy and evil deeds!

Allaah (The Most High) said:

O Messenger (Muhammad)! Let not those who hurry to fall into disbelief grieve you, of such who say: “We believe” with their mouths but their hearts have no faith.

And of the Yahood are men who listen much and eagerly to lies – listen to others who have not come to you [those of their leaders who substitute the Torah (1)]

They change the words from their places- [declaring the halaal to be haraam and the haraam to be halaal (2)]; they say, “If you are given this (ruling), take it; but if you are not given this, then beware!”

And whomsoever Allah wants to put in Al-Fitnah- [misguidance or punishment, or exposed; (3) because of his rejecting the Faith (4)] you can do nothing for him against Allah- [you cannot save him (5)]

Those are the ones [Yahood and Munaafiqoon (6)] whose hearts Allaah does not want to purify (from disbelief and hypocrisy); for them there is a disgrace in this world- [Allaah informed the Prophet of what was hidden in the hearts of the Munaafiqoon as well as the lies of the Yahood in this worldly life (6)], and for them (there) is a great torment in the Hereafter. [5:41]

Imaam Bin Baaz said: Perform your deeds for the Sake of Allaah alone!

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz (rahimahullaah) said:

“Riyaa is that you perform an act (of worship) and intend that the people see you, praise and commend you. And from that is to perform an act (of worship) in order to be heard, such as reading (the Qur’aan) in order that you are praised and that it is said: ”Indeed, his reading is good and beautiful”; or you perform a lot of Dhikr in order that you are praised and it is said: “He performs a lot of dhikr;” or you enjoin good and forbid evil so that you are praised and commended. This is Riyaa and Shirk Asghar. Therefore, it is obligatory to be mindful of this and that you perform your deeds for the Sake of Allaah alone; and not for the people, their praises and commendations for you; rather you learn in order to act and teach your brothers. And you lead them in the prayer whilst hoping for the reward from Allaah and intending to benefit them, and not out of an intention to be seen or heard.

[Majmoo Fataawaa 9/367]

May Allaah reward our brother Abu Tasneem (Mushaf) for encouraging our youth

Assalaamu alaykum warahmatullaah;

Firstly: We praise and thank Allaah for granting us the opportunity to be in the company of one another for the sake of His Religion.

Secondly: We thank our brother Ustaadh Abu Tasneem (Mushaf) for starting the Arabic Lesson today. It was beautiful to see the motivation and concern he gave to the young brothers (under the age of sixteen) during the lesson.

Thirdly: Those brothers who find it difficult to read the Qur’aan will also be offered Qaa-idah lessons next week at the same time. So do not allow the difficulty you encountered in the first lesson to dishearten you; rather we have a programme suitable for you next week In-Shaa-Allaah.

Finally: The purpose of these reminders is so that brothers and sisters are encouraged to learn and strengthen themselves until we meet our Lord.

May Allaah bless you all

A destructive affair!

”Two hungry wolves let loose among sheep are not more harmful than a person’s craving after wealth and status is to his Religion.”

Kinds words and forgiveness…..

Allaah (Subhaanah) said:

”Kind words and forgiving of faults are better than charity followed by injury.  And Allaah is Rich (Free of all needs) and He is Most-Forbearing” [2:263]

Reminder to our brothers and sisters @ Masjid Al-Furqaan—Please utilize your time wisely!

Please occupy yourselves with the Duroos of the Tullaab in the Salafi Masaajid; or listen via the Salafi Radios. They transmit the books of Aqeedah and Fiqh with the explanations of the Ulama, and clarifications on Manhaj issues. Do not spend much time on twitter and YouTube; rather be very selective regarding what you read and utilize your time wisely.

It was said to Ibn Hajar (rahimahullaah): ”O Shaikhul Islaam! In what prison are you in, and in what paradise am I In?”

Al-Allaama Al-Manaawiy (rahimahullaah) said that it was mentioned that when Al-Haafidh Ibn Hajar (rahimahullaah) was the leader of the judges, he once went past a market with a great procession and a beautiful appearance; so a Yahoodi who was selling hot oil-whose clothes were stained with oil and he was in an extremely miserable and ugly state-grabbed the bridle of his female mule and said: ”O Shaikhul Islaam! You claim that your Prophet said: ‘The worldly life is the prison of the believer and the paradise of the disbeliever’, so in what prison are you in, and in what paradise am I? So he [Ibn Hajar (rahimahullaah)] said: In relation to what Allaah has prepared for me of bliss in the afterlife (i.e. for me and other believers In-Shaa-Allaah), then it is as if I am in a prison. And in relation to what Allaah has prepared for you of painful punishment in the afterlife (i.e. for you and other disbelievers), then it is as if you are in paradise (at present). So the Yahoodi accepted Islaam (i.e. he became a Muslim).
